An Update

Woah, well it’s been a hot minute since I posted on here. I’m sorry it’s been so long…things got really busy! Also, I had pink eye so there was a span of a few days where I couldn’t even put foundation on, yikes.

To update you on what’s going on, I’m getting ready for Spring Break! We leave for Toronto soon, then I fly to Miami for a couple days to visit family. I’m really excited and in desperate need of a break from school and everything around here, ya know?

I have a lot in store for the next few days/weeks! Hauls, travel diaries, and much more 🙂

Thank you to everyone who has been sticking with me! I know this is still a work in progress, but I’m doing my best. The endless support means so much to me!

I hope you’re still around to see what’s to come and let me know if there is anything specific you’d like me to write about! See you again very soon 🙂

Change is Good

When I want to change my nail color or wallpapers, that’s when I know I need to change something. I like to describe myself as half of Kate and half of Gracie. If you don’t know them: they’re my best friends. Kate wears a lot of bright, bold stuff and Gracie wears darker, more casual stuff. Both of them are absolutely beautiful. Here are pictures of them below 🙂

So basically, sometimes I want to live in leggings, a t-shirt, black nails, a flannel, and some converse. But sometimes, I want everything to be pink and bright (including my nails) and I want to wear blazers with jeans and heels. This is how I’ve been feeling recently, so I decided to change. I love both sides, and often lean more towards one or the other.

Spring is beautiful. Everything is bright, flowers are blooming, and I want everything to be pastel, bright, and floral. As the days get warmer and the sun starts to come out more, I’ve felt the need to immediately change my entire wardrobe. Change is good. It starts a new chapter in your life. I’m sure you’ve seen this before through movies or friends, but a lot of people change something after a big event, a breakup, or new beginning.

Think about it: don’t you love walking through Target’s aisles, seeing all of the new home or clothing items in the store? I love looking through the different home sections. Every time I go back, it’s like I plan how my room would look if I bought that piece. Plus, watching online YouTubers who look absolutely perfect makes you wanna change, too. See it like this: after a hard breakup in high school, I decided to chop off my hair. It was just refreshing. It was liberating.

So the message through all of this is: change can be scary, but change is good. If you’re feeling down about something, try changing something around you. Do what makes you happy. Whatever you are, be a good one 🙂

A Quick Thank You

Not my typical post and it’s a bit long, but with everything happening so fast, I wanted to stop and thank a few people who got me to this point.

To my best friends: Grace, Kate, you guys have really pushed me to follow my dreams. Thank you for listening to me complain and ramble, and thank you for always bearing with me if I show you a new YouTube channel or a new product I’ve been loving. Also, thanks for letting me drag you to the mall or to Ulta to buy more things I don’t need. (Thanks for also making sure I don’t spend too much, too). You are my everything.

To my parents: without you guys, I don’t know what I would do. Thank you for being my number one fans. Thank you for going through this process with me. Thank you for always being there for me, through both good times and bad. Thank you for keeping me grounded. And most importantly, thank you for shaping me into the young woman I am today.

To my sister, brother, and brother-in-law: you guys are amazing. Thank you for critiquing me and helping me keep a level head. You all are always there for me, even when I don’t think I need any help.  Thank you for supporting me, loving me, and for always pulling me back up after I fall.

To my aunts and cousins: thank you for always being excited to see my growth. Thank you for being so supportive, always. Thank you for giving me opportunities and inspirations for how I want to mold the beauty side of me. You all help me to grow and step out of my comfort zone. Thanks for always adding fun little comments and for sharing my posts everywhere.

To my boyfriend: thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for pushing me to go for what I want, and for being there for me when I fall. You bring so much happiness in my life, and you really do make me feel beautiful every day.

To my roommate Natalie: thank you for always staying up to talk to me. Thank you for talking to me about anything and everything. Thank you for never judging me, but also for bringing me back to reality after I drift off into my own little world. You mean so much to me, and I love how close we’ve grown over the past 2 years.

To my friends and peers: thank you for the support. All of the comments, likes, and shares from you really keep me going. Whether it is my close friends from school or home, or even from random people I haven’t spoken to in forever/don’t know at all, you keep me inspired and motivated to do all of the things I love and post it.

To you reading this (if I haven’t mentioned you before): thank you. Thank you for taking the time to actually read and view my different outlets. The constant support means so much to me, more than you’ll ever be able to comprehend.

If I didn’t mention you, know that you still mean just as much to me. I can’t thank you enough for helping me get to where I am now, and for staying with me as I grow.

The Other Aisle

When it comes to taking care of yourself, there are so many options to consider. From shaving your legs to priming your face, the decision on what to buy becomes harder than a math problem. Sure, there are some great products in the women’s section at Target, but have you noticed the best options might be in the other aisle? More specifically, the men’s aisle?

A lot of people feel the need to stick to their own sections when trying to find the right product for them. If it’s a women’s brand for shaving, that brand would know what’s best for us, right? Well, here’s the thing. There are a ton of options in the men’s aisle that are better and cheaper options to some of the brands we are used to. So get out your shopping list, because here are a few things to add:

  1. Nivea Men’s Sensitive Post Shave Balm ($7 Ulta)

I had to mention it. The rave started a couple months ago about using this as a primer for your make-up. For only $7, you get soothing hydration, moisture for days, and a great primer (all in one!).

  1. Gillette Fusion Men’s Razor ($10 Target)

Let’s face it: buying razors is such a pain. These razors are made for the hard stubble that covers men’s faces and gives them a smooth, younger look after use. When using them for shaving your legs, you can get away with not shaving for at least two days and have the silky legs everyone wants.

  1. PanOxyl Acne Treatment ($9 Walmart)

Forget the $17 Clinique facial washes that run out after a month’s use. This acne treatment will not only clear your skin, but leave with you with that “baby-bottom smooth” face that makes you forget you wore make up that day.

You can’t go wrong trying the other section. We’re all humans, right? As long as you stick to your skin-type, there’s no hurt in trying. Not only are these cheaper options, but you could get to get away with packing less to stay over your significant other’s place by maybe using their stuff. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love having more room in their bag for make-up?

Peep the cute cover photo, it’s adorable. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these and what you thought!
